Beware, Princess Elizabeth: Carolyn Meyer
Elizabeth, Edward, and Mary had now been watching the somber procession that had stretched on for miles following their father's coffin. Elizabeth could not control the events only her response to them as her father is now dead, her sister, Mary, is cold and her brother, Edward, is now king. "What will become of me?" she kept asking herself. And she knew she would never be queen as she was placed way in the back of the procession. As Edward had been "mounted high" on this big white horse, wearing rubies, pearls, and diamonds. He had been followed by the people of the kingdom, according to rank. Elizabeth had gone back to when her mother and father had met. She did not match his portrait he had thought would be the woman of his dreams but he had married her anyway. But since they had been divorced, she had been known as "the king's sister".
